Selecting a Program of Study

While some students know exactly what degree plan they will choose and have their career path planned out when they enter college, many students need to do some exploration before they decide on a major or program of study.  Whether you wish to take continuing education classes for personal enrichment or pursue a bachelor's degree, Northwest Florida State College is equipped to assist in helping you define your long-term educational goals.  In addition to meeting with an Academic Advisor, located at each of our seven sites, you may also wish to visit one of our Career Centers to complete a questionnaire that can match your interests and abilities with suggested majors of study.

It takes time and research to find the major that best suits you. The following resources are also available to assist you in choosing a program.

Beyond Education - This website aims to provide parents and students with postsecondary school information that will help them to make informed education and career choices. (Economic Security Report)

Smart College Choices - This portal is intended to provide information on student graduation, employment, earnings, and continued education rates for each of the 28 Florida College System institutions and Public School District Career Centers.  (Introductory Materials)
